I totally agree, the shock when you're exposed to some of the unbelievably outdated ways of thinking outside of our well-curated bubbles, is like the ice bucket challenge every time.
I try to follow some accounts that are either just outside or report on the opinions outside the bubble just so I stay grounded on what we're actually working against!
So sorry that I'm just spotting this comment Richard! I agree - although I can't cope with the shock factor. It seems that my barely used Threads account has done it for me somehow. All the suggested threads (not sure that's the right language but you know what I mean) appear to be the opposite of what I'm used to seeing so it's like entering an alternate universe.
It would be interesting to see what the default settings are for an untrained algorithm for Threads. (Although I feel like Threads is still safer territory than the new unfiltered twitter. #ThanksElon)
